The best way to learn about wine is to research what you drink before you drink it.  Here are a number of excellent wine magazines and websites that can help you do your homework before your first sip:

The Wine Spectator            http://winespectator.com/
The Wine Spectator is one of the oldest and most respected wine magazines in the world, and its website is probably the most comprehensive.  The site provides access to ratings and tasting notes for more than 154,000 wines, plus thousands of exclusive columns and articles.

Decanter                                http://decanter.com/
Decanter is the best known English-language wine magazine in Europe.  Its website features wine news and views, a wine auction price tracker, free wine news alerts, wine recommendations and much more.

The Wine Advocate             http://www.erobertparker.com/
The Wine Advocate is the primary platform for American wine critic Robert Parker, Jr., who helped to revolutionize the wine business by creating his own wine rating system back in the early 1980s.

Jancis Robinson                 http://www.Jancisrobinson.com/
This is the website of Jancis Robinson, wine correspondent for The Financial Times and the first female Master of Wine.  Her gifted palate and talented pen make for great wine reading.

The Wine Enthusiast          http://www.wineenthusiast.com/
The Wine Enthusiast website is an excellent source for wine information and education, and they offer a large selection of accessories – even information on wine travel and wine art!

Wine Journal                        http://www.wine-journal.com/
Wine-Journal.com is an independent wine website managed by Neal Martin, an Englishman who started teaching himself about wine in the mid 1990s.

The Wine Doctor                 http://www.thewinedoctor.com/
TheWineDoctor.com is another personal project by an English wine lover, Chris Kissock, and includes a selection of producer profiles, tasting note and wine guides that reflect his taste in (mostly European) wines.

Wine & Spirits                      http://www.wineandspiritsmagazine.com/
Wine & Spirits bills itself as the guide to “straightforward, enlightened enjoyment of fine wine and premium spirits.” The lively, American-style content includes wine reviews, features, profiles, and plenty on food and wine pairing.
