This auction consisted of 122 lots of duty-paid, landed China stocks. All of the stocks were the top Bordeaux Grand Cru Classes, many of which were directly shipped from the chateaux to ensure their authenticity and the utmost pristine conditions. There were many rare gems including the glorious past vintages such as 1982 and 1985 which are becoming increasingly difficult to source. The highest bid was two 12 bottle cases of Chateau Latour 1982 that was sold at RMB389,000 (GBP35,400 approx) for each case and the most popular lot was two 12 bottle cases of Chateau La Mission Haut Brion 1999 that attracted 13 bids.

Invited by ASC as special vintner guests, Mr. Frederic Engerer of Chateau Latour and Mr. Jean-Philippe Delmas of Chateau Haut-Brion came all the way to Shanghai for the event. They signed the certificate of ownership for the guests that bought Chateau Latour and Chateau Haut-Brion wines. Their participation brought extraordinary excitement to the guests, who were ASC’s best direct sales customers and key sub-distributors throughout the country.
Don St. Pierre Jnr, Chief Executive Officer of ASC Fine Wines donated RMB680,000 from the sales of the auction to the Shanghai Charity Foundation to establish the ASC Fine Wines Charity Fund.
