Languedoc
Languedoc Roussillon lies on the coast of Mediterranean Sea, just below Southern Rhone. This uprising appellation was under the influence of Australian wine company in 1990. The quality, winemaking practice and the price are more likely to be new-world oriented rather than the traditional French. There are several AOC communes in this area with a few of VDQS and VDP to be lifted up.
The region’s major grape varieties are similar to Southern Rhone Valley, Cinsault, Grenache, Carignan are very important with tones of local and other appellation varieties grown in this area. The region produces sparkling, whites (dry, sweet), rose and reds.
The Mediterranean climate, close to the equator and new – world winemaking influence make the region producing jammy, fruity, rich and full bodied wine. The ultra premium Languedoc Roussillon always guarantees the quality and the better value.
