Its situation on the peninsula provides maritime climatic conditions. The prevailing south-easterly winds in the warm summer months from January to March ensure relatively low maximum temperatures, critical to the production of aromatic grape varieties such as Sauvignon blanc and Muscat de Frontignan.
The farm’s soils originate from 600M year old granite and were formed in a period of different climatic conditions than those experienced today. During the long dry summers of the Cape, this acts as a buffer against excessive water stress, thus ensuring high quality grapes.
