Graduated from Universite du Vin, Universite de Bourgogne and Universite de Bordeaux, Noel Chi is the first Chinese to hold the title of BIVB official tutor. During his 5 years of study in France, he is also the first Chinese to be honored with Diploma of Technician Enology by Burgundy University in France. After visiting over one thousand wineries, Mr. Chi was appointed as lecturer at members of Universities in Taiwan, Peking University and China Agricultural University. He has joined the panel of several international wine challenges as wine judge.

Currently a wine course lecturer, Mr. Chi enjoys spreading his knowledge about wine and spirit through his witty, humorous language with fellow connoisseurs who share his passion for food and wines.

His book “The Spirit of My Cave” has won the first place in the Gourmand World Cookbook Award, Wine Atlas/Tourism division, out of nominations from hundreds of countries. This is the first gold award won by a Chinese author since 1997.

Andy was formerly the head Sommelier of The Regent, Four Seasons Hotel in Singapore and has been attached to various famous restaurants in New York like Vong, Jean Georges and Daniel by Daniel Boulud for his Sommelier apprenticeship. n his early days in the restaurant trade not only did he come second in Singapore’s Grand Prix Sommelier finals but the wine list he designed also won him a Wine Spectator best of service award of excellent and best of award of excellent. At the same time Decanter Magazine gave him an award of excellence for “Best Wine List in Asia”. He has previously worked as a wine judge for Sonoma Harvest Fair in California, one of the most important annual events in this part of the world. Recently, he received another accolade for his jointly-written article, “Wine Trends of the World”: It was awarded the title of “Best Wine Article of the Year” at the world gourmet summit in 2003.
